Dr. Susheela Venkatraman

Trustee and Chair, Board of Trustees

Susheela is the former Chief of Technology at the Asian Development Bank. She has previously provided strategic consultancy in organizational performance and strengthening, globalization strategy, transformation and innovation and is associated with Organisation Performance Consultants, a global network of consultants.

Susheela has over 25 years of consulting experience, is a regular speaker at major conferences, writes frequently on topics in healthcare and development, and is a member of the e-health/m-health task force of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Ujwal Thakar

Trustee

Ujwal has rich and varied experience spanning the banking financial industry and the social sector in India. Ujwal has been an Adviser to KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers in their BFSI (banking, insurance and financial services industry) practice, where he brings 28 years of banking industry experience across nationalized, private sector and foreign banks in India.

He has been the country head for the retail banking business in Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas and Timesbank. Ujwal was also associated with SBI for 12 years and was in the founding team that created SBI Capital markets. He has lectured at IIM s NIBM and has been a guest speaker at Harvard, Dartmouth College, Stanford Business School, London Business School, NIBM, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Lucknow. He sits on the boards of Educate Girls, Ummeed, Shoshit Sewa Kendra, and the Indian School of Democracy.

Dr. Ashwin Naik

Trustee

Ashwin is a Healthcare Entrepreneur, Investor, and Author whose innovation, drive, and compassion have all earned him the reputation as a thought leader. Over the course of two decades, he has garnered extensive industry experience in healthcare delivery, social enterprise, and health-tech startups, establishing and supporting multiple leading-edge healthcare organizations along the way.

In addition to authoring the book “The Healthcare Gamechangers”, Dr. Naik is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, as well as a TED fellow and a Senior Ashoka fellow.  He co-founded and built India’s first semi-urban hospital network, Vaatsalya Hospitals.  Dr. Ashwin Naik is a trained physician and a Trustee of Arogya World India Trust.

Neeraj Jain

Trustee

Neeraj Jain is PATH’s India Country Director since June 2016. He is also the Director of the South Asia Hub covering Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal & Sri Lanka since 2020. He oversees the strategic, programmatic, engagement and financial operations for a matrix of global and in-country programs implemented across PATH’s offices in South Asia. He also represents PATH to governments, policymakers, the global health community, donors, and media.

Neeraj comes with over 30 years of experience across business development, marketing and strategic management in organisations across Asia and Europe.

Prior to PATH, Neeraj was the Chief Executive at WaterAid, India. He played a critical role towards promoting importance of safe water, sanitation and hygiene in improving child health and representing the organisation at the central and state level in India.

Dr. Nalini Saligram

Founder Trustee

Nalini founded Arogya World out of a deep personal desire to make a meaningful contribution to global health, using her science background and her global communications experience, and working with like-minded people and like-minded organizations.  After getting a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore she subsequently lived and worked in many parts of the world –  at Merck in the US, Glaxo Wellcome in London, Hill & Knowlton in Hong Kong.  Nalini is an Ashoka Fellow and is based in Chicago and Bangalore.
